Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Utterson Chapter 3& 4

Mr. Utterson, a busybody lawyer, would habitually go for a walk with his nephew, Richard Enfield, on Sunday afternoons to maintain their relationship...... On one of their walks, they hold their hands to a building. Richard pointed out the door of the building to his uncle and related the story of the incident that had happened recently.

Richard Enfield became more furious when he told his uncle about Edie that he suspected being his daughter but it ended up not. Mr. Utterson felt disgusted when he heard about Grant. Grant had just became his ex due to his love to Enfield since Edie's incident. Although Enfield was one of the reason that caused him to break up with Grant but he still loved Enfield as much as he had before. This was not only because of the uncle and nephew relationship but his hobby to have many boyfriends at the same time.

Enfield voiced out his suspicions that Edie's mother was probably lying as she was afraid of her husband which was one of the gangster head near the place where he imagined as The G House. He also told Utterson that the man who signed the cheque lived elsewhere. Utterson became interested to Hyde and wanted to know more about him so he asked for a description of him. Richard described the man known as Hyde as being full of evil and stated that all who saw and were near him took an instant dislike of him. ( This was just an excuse to let Utterson dislike Hyde because Hyde had taken his first kiss for man. This was also to prevent Utterson from getting close to Hyde.)

Utterson told Richard he had heard of this man and informed a suprised Richard that he knew it was Dr. Henry Jekyll, his first ever true love, who had signed the cheque. He also warned Richard that the matter was confidential because he did not want anyone to snatch Hyde away from him and he sensed that his feelings were all for Hyde as he was interested with him.

On Sundays, it was customary for Utterson to go the gay pub and read by the fire after having dinner at the gay pub. However, that night, he as a typically busybody lawyer had taken out an envelope containing the will of Henry Jekyll. The will stated that in the event of Dr. Jekyll's death or his disappearance exceeding 3 calendar months, all his possessions were to be passed into the hands of his good friend, Edward Hyde.

Utterson was so surprised when he saw the name of Hyde. He became very curious about the relationship of Jekyll and Hyde. Soon, he had a conclusion that Hyde was Jekyll's new boyfriend. Utterson clearly disapproved of the will due to his jealousy and greediness.

He decided to visit his old friend or maybe ex-boyfriend, Dr.Lanyon. Lanyon told Utterson he had seen very little of Jekyll of late and claimed that Jekyll was a little insane due to his scientific research.( He became furious with Jekyll since Jekyll had rejected him after he had proposed to Jekyll to be his boyfriend. He used to love Jekyll's insane scientific research but since his love was rejected ......)

When Lanyon was asked if he had heard of the name Hyde, Lanyon said he had not.

That night, Utterson had recurring dreams of what Enfield had told him especially about Hyde. To stop thinking about Hyde, he decided to take a good look at Hyde. He began to wait patiently at the door which Enfield had pointed out to him. After some nights of waiting and watching, Utterson became impatient but his could get some results from his effort. Hyde finally appeared.

Utterson addressed him and Hyde was initially taken aback. When Hyde asked Utterson how he knew him, Utterson declared that they had a common friends and Jekyll was the one. Instantly, Hyde called Utterson a liar, saying that Jekyll had never told him about Hyde. Hyde was convinced that Utterson was a pervert because the way Utterson had looked at him. He did not want to talk Utterson because he felt disgusted. So, he ran away......
